'Outlander' author approves of Lord John spinoff
With the huge success of the “Outlander” TV series, and the passionate fan following, it appears that it is only a matter of time before a spin-off series is approved. The most likely candidate for the new TV series is a character called Lord John Grey, played by Aussie actor David Berry.
Diana Gabaldon, the author of the “Outlander” book series, approves of a spin-off series. Commenting on a post she shared on Facebook that suggests a Lord John Grey series, the author said that she is ready for the show if Berry is.
Lord John Grey is an important character in the “Outlander” TV series. He is a British officer who becomes friends with the lead character Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). There is a spin-off book series of Lord John, with some crossover with the main series, making it the best pick for a new TV series.
Gabaldon hinted at the possibility of cameo appearance of Jamie in the spin-off series. The only caveat is that Heughan should also be willing.
Berry has already won over the fans with his spectacular performance as Lord John Grey in the “Outlander” TV series. The actor has been working hard on his craft to portray a character like this for a while, and it certainly shows on screen.
Many of the fans have also been asking about when Starz will approve of a Lord John Grey series. It may be just a matter of time before this interest in the character will reach fever pitch in the fan base, with everyone clamouring to see more of Berry.
While the fans wait for any official news about a Lord John Grey TV series, there is more “Outlander” to watch. Filming of season 4 has been completed, and it is currently in the post production phase of development.
