'Outlander' cast members and Diana Gabaldon attend RingCon for the last time; Richard Kahan writing Season 2 episode
Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis and Duncan Lacroix of the “Outlander” TV series attended the RingCon event in Germany. The cast members were joined by celebrity author Diana Gabaldon and also the cast members of the fantasy TV series “Game of Thrones.”
The RingCon 2015 took place between Nov. 6th and 8th at the Maritim Hotel in Bonn, Germany. Pictures from the event were shared on Twitter by Outlander_DE. Some of the pictures show the panel discussion of cast members Heughan and McTavish and there are also pictures of Gabaldon interacting with fans and signing books.
The organisers of the event admitted on the official website that it was getting more difficult to motivate people to buy tickets for this event, as it brings together stars from different fandoms. The presence of Heughan and the other cast members of the popular TV series apparently helped sell more tickets, but the organisers were hoping for some more people to attend the event.
“ Every single attendee is delighted by what happened at RingCon, the atmosphere and so on, but most of them are not coming back the following year if their favourite actor won't attend,” the organizers said. In light of the response by the fans, the organizers have decided to stop hosting the event in the near future and have confirmed that there won’t be a RingCon in 2016.
They, however, point out that this doesn’t mean that there will never be another RingCon ever again. Fans, on the other hand, have other events to look forward to; like the HobbitCon, which will be held in April 2016.
Meanwhile, filming for the next season of “Outlander” is continuing. Richard Kahan has confirmed on Twitter that he has written the script for one of the episodes of the next season. Kahan said that he isn’t allowed to reveal which episode he has written, yet, but teased that the fans are going to enjoy the show next year.
