'Outlander' fans are passionate and generous, say Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe talked about what it was like to film scenes for “Outlander” Season 2 recently. They were answering fan questions in an interview, in which they praised the fans for their dedication and support.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Balfe said that the thing she likes most about the fans of the popular TV series is that they are very passionate. She also said that the fans were very generous. Heughan on the other hand pointed out how active the fans were.
The first question by one of the fans for the interview was about the two lead actors learning to ride horses for the show. Balfe revealed that they didn’t have to learn horse riding from scratch and that both of their resumes had horse riding in it.
Heughan said that there has always been a competition between the two on the set, when it comes to horses. Balfe explained that for the first season of the show she had a fat, slow “tank” of a horse, but for “Outlander” Season 2 she apparently has a much faster horse that she described as a “Ferrari” and her horse likes to race with Heughan’s horse.
When asked about how often the two cast members get annoyed with each other, Balfe said “very rarely.” Heughan however hesitated, before saying “never.” “Wow...okay...i’ll remember this,” Balfe responded.
When pressed to say if they actually fought on the set of the show, Balfe remembered the time she was teasing Heughan about his French pronunciation and how he was annoyed by it. Heughan in turn joked that Balfe pronounces the word potatoes differently.
Despite all the jokes that Heughan and Balfe make about each other, the two apparently miss each other when they are on a break from filming, the actress said. Balfe also said that she missed the actors who play Highlanders this time around, as they are not a part of the first few acts of “Outlander” Season 2.
