'Outlander' Season 2 episode 3 spoilers: Jamie compares politics to playing chess; Mother Hildegard to be introduced
The trailer of “Outlander” Season 2 episode 3 has been released online. The video shows Jamie comparing politics to playing chess at a grand scale. In the next episode he will find that his mission in France will be more difficult than what he originally thought.
[Spoiler alert]
“What is politics? Chess on a grand scale,” Jamie (Sam Heughan) says in the promo video of episode 3. He appears to be playing a game of chess with the Finance Minister of France. Jamie received an invite by the French minister in the previous episode, after Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) praised his skills in front of everyone.
However, preventing the French minister from helping the Jacobite rebellion may not be enough to stop it. Prince Charles (Andrew Gower) tells all his supports that he has managed to secure a large sum of money necessary for the rebellion.
A concerned Jamie starts to think of ways to thwart the Prince, as the others raise a toast. The young Scotsman will realise that he will have to do more and quickly if he wants to stop the rebellion in the next episode of “Outlander” Season 2.
Jamie, however, is not comfortable with having to lead a deceptive life. He has to lie and mislead Prince Charles in order to learn his plans and try to stop him. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will remind Jamie what’s at stake and tries to convince him about their mission.
The trailer does not show Claire telling her husband about Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) being alive. Jamie has been having nightmares about Jack and the events of the past season have put a strain on the couple’s relationship.
The next episode of “Outlander” Season 2 will also introduce Mother Hildegard. The promo video of episode 3 shows Frances de la Tour in a nun’s dress for the first time.
