'Outlander' Season 2: Murtagh won't dance; hates France
Murtagh Fraser won’t be seen dancing in “Outlander” Season 2, cast member Duncan Lacroix revealed in a recent interview. The actor also talked about why his character hates France and what would happen if someone tries to make Murtagh wear a French wig.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Lacroix said that Murtagh hates France because they didn’t have proper sewage system back then. He also said that his character doesn’t like his new French clothes. The actor explained that Murtagh doesn’t like the French sleeves and the clothing designs around the neck.
Murtagh is mostly comfortable wearing his Kilt and also wore it when he was out dancing in front of everyone around Scotland. Lacroix revealed that the fans will not see him dancing this time around and wondered why the producers chose not to include that in the new season. He hoped that the fans start some sort of a petition to get Murtagh to dance again.
When asked what Murtagh would do if he was forced to wear a French wig, Lacroix said that that would result in people dying. While most of the French characters in “Outlander” Season 2 were seen wearing a wig, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Murtagh have managed to avoid it. Lacroix said that if his character was forced to wear a wig, there would be decapitated heads everywhere.
Lacroix said that Murtagh may not spare even Jamie, if the Laird of Broch Tuarach forces him to wear a wig. The two Scottish men have been good friends over the years, and the loyal Murtagh has followed Jamie everywhere in his adventures.
While Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) are busy planning their moves in “Outlander” Season 2, Murtagh has been kept in the dark. The trailers of the new season tease that he will eventually learn about Claire’s shocking secret and will believe her.
