'Outlander' Season 2 love making scene with baby bump confirmed; new character portraits released
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe confirmed in a recent interview that there will be a love making scene with a baby bump in “Outlander” Season 2. The producers, meanwhile, have released a new set of character portraits of the French characters on the show.
In an interview with E! News, Balfe (Claire) said that there will be different stages of pregnancy of her character that will be shown in the next season. She also said that there will be a love making scene with her wearing the silicon baby bump.
Heughan (Jamie) said that there were two stages of the baby bump. The first stage he called the “sexy bump” and the second stage that was “too much bump.” Balfe said that at times it would get ‘odd” because Heughan would be busy playing with the baby bump and she would try to remind him that she is “up here.”
“I was kinda obsessed by it,” Heughan said. The actor said that it was really fun to poke the baby bump, but he also liked to rub it. The actor said that it was important to have the love making scene in “Outlander” Season 2 and pointed out that the scene was not glamorised and felt “real.”
Balfe said that she had a conversation about pregnancy with Diana Gabaldon, who is the author of the book series on which the TV series is based on. The actress got some insight from Gabaldon because she herself has never been pregnant. Balfe said that pregnant women feel “sexy” and “very womanly” and the TV series celebrates that aspect of women. Heughan added that women who are pregnant are sexy and glowing.
Meanwhile, new character portraits of some of the French characters in “Outlander” Season 2 have been posted on the Facebook page of Showcase. Apart from the French characters, Jamie, Claire and Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) can be seen in their new costumes. Frank (Tobias Menzies) can be seen wearing a brown suit.
