'Outlander' Season 3: Another behind the scenes picture and more
Co-executive Producer Matthew B. Roberts continues to tease pictures from the sets of “Outlander” Season 3. The latest picture he shared online is from the set where a major action sequence was filmed.
A lot of the filming for the next season has already been completed. The first block, which consists of two episodes, focused on the Battle of Culloden and its aftermath in the past, and Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) challenges in the future.
The new picture that Roberts has shared on his Twitter page was taken in between takes. The cast and crew appear to be filming a scene of the Battle of Culloden. The familiar scene of Highlanders with their swords and horses, and smoke in the background may remind the fans of the first behind the scenes videos shared by Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore.

Previously released pictures from the next season posted on Entertainment Weekly, show the filming of some of the battle scenes. Jamie will be facing Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) in “Outlander” Season 3.
While the fans wait for the Droughtlander to end, they can pick up a new book about the TV series that has just been released. “The Making of Outlander: The Series: The Official Guide to Seasons One & Two” has been released. The book shares some behind the scenes details, with some of the cast and other production team members’ interviews.
In a Facebook post, author Diana Gabaldon revealed that she will personally sign the new book, along with any other new book that the fans purchase from the Poisoned Pen on Nov. 10. The new book has been written by Tara Bennett and the forward has been written by Gabaldon.
“Outlander” Season 3 is set to return in 2017. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
