'Outlander' Season 3 casting begins; Jamie may kiss a man [Spoilers]
Co-executive Producer Maril Davis is back in Scotland as the preparatory work for “Outlander” Season 3 begins. She confirmed that casting for the show has now begun. Some of the familiar actors like Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will be back for the show, and they will be joined by a host of new actors once again.
Davis is back in Scotland and is enthusiastic about starting the preliminary work for the production of the Starz TV series. She confirmed that the weather was sunny when she landed and is eager to welcome the cast members back on the set.
Replying to a question posed by a fan online, the producer said that the casting for the show has begun. The next season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book “Voyager.” As the name suggests, the plot will take the main characters on a ship. The characters will travel to exotic new locations like Jamaica and encounter dangerous new characters, such as pirates.
Perhaps the most highly anticipated character in “Outlander” Season 3 is Lord John Grey. The character appeared as the young William Grey (Oscar Kennedy) in the second season. Now, the viewers will get to see an older version of the same character.
[Spoiler alert]
Jamie (Sam Heughan) will meet John Grey again in the next season. According to a report by Chattsportsnet the time gap will be 20 years, before the two characters meet. The young character, who was just an ordinary British soldier, will now be seen as the Governor of Ardsmuir Prison.
“Outlander” Season 3 will show the events just after the Battle of Culloden. Jamie will be a prisoner at Ardsmuir, where he will develop an awkward friendship with the governor of the prison. The report notes that the two characters may even share an intimate kiss. Lord Grey apparently “fancies” the young Scotsman.
