'Outlander' Season 3: Diana Gabaldon has watched first 4 episodes and she is happy with the result
Diana Gabaldon has already watched the first four episodes of “Outlander” Season 3, she revealed in a recent interview. The celebrity author is happy with what the cast and crew have managed to create for the fans so far.
The next season of the popular Starz TV series is based on Gabaldon’s book “Voyager.” In an interview with TV Guide the author teased that the writers have made a modification to the adaptation of the book.
The life of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Frank (Tobias Menzies) was touched upon lightly in the book. The TV series, however, has expanded on this part of the storyline to give the fans a good view of what life was like for the characters in Boston.
Commenting on this expansion, Gabaldon said that the cast and crew have done it “well” and have been very consistent. The report also reveals that the authior has watched the first four episodes of “Outlander” Season 3.
Filming of the first two blocks of the next season was comlpeted recently. Each block consists of two episodes. The cast and crew have now begun working on the next block.
For the fans who have read the books, Gabaldon teased that the beginning of the next season will be “very recognisable.” Most of the scenes involving Jamie (Sam Heughan) has been a straight adaptation from the book, according to the author. This means the fans will get to see the Scottish warrior face off against his arch enemy Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) early on.
The role of Black Jack is set to end with “Outlander” Season 3. But, the fans will get to see more of Menzies in the form of Frank. As some of the veteran characters slowly fade away from the show, new faces will be added next year to keep the fans engaged.
