Cast member Richard Rankin was asked questions about “Outlander” Season 3 in a Q & A session with the fans online. The actor was celebrating a milestone on Twitter, and had promised to answer questions on reaching 40k followers.
Some of the fans were interested in knowing whether Rankin (Roger Wakefield) will be wearing a kilt this time around. The actor chose not to spill the beans yet, and directed the fan to check with the costume department of the show to find out for sure. The fans, however, pointed out to him that the next season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book “Voyager,” in which his character wears the Scottish outfit.
In another question that is not related to the question on the kilt, one of the fan asked Rankin if he preferred boxers or briefs, while thanking him for helping the fans with Droughtlander. The actor said he prefers neither.
Filming of 3 blocks of “Outlander” Season 3, each consisting of two episodes, has been completed and the cast and crew are working on block 4 at the moment. One of the fans asked if Roger has been a part of all the blocks filmed so far. Rankin did not wish to give away details about the filming in this interaction.
A fan wanted to know if Rankin would sing on the show, and pointed out that he has a beautiful voice. The actor was open to the idea and said that he would if they make him.
Rankin has won the hearts of the fans with his performance. One of the fans asked him if he feels like the character while on screen yet. The actor said that he is discovering the character along with the audience. Answering another question he said he likes the dynamic of Roger’s story and where that takes him.
There will be a lot of scenes for Rankin in “Outlander” Season 3 with Caitriona Balfe (Claire) and Sophie Skelton (Brianna). Rankin said that filming with these two actors “is a joy.”
