The producer wrote in another post that the cast and crew have already completed two weeks of filming. He said that this was a “great start” to an “exciting, rip-roaring, emotionally charged” Season 3.
The next season is expected to begin with the Battle of Culloden, and Jamie (Sam Heughan) dealing with the aftermath of the failed rebellion. At least two other major characters on the show are expected to die during this battle, which means another big emotional good bye in “Outlander” Season 3.
The show has already bid adieu to some major characters like Comte St. Germain (Stanley Weber) and Angus (Stephen Walters). A new set of characters will be introduced next year, as the main characters embark on another thrilling adventure.
The plot of the next season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book “Voyager.” As the name suggests, the main cast members will be spending some time on a ship. They will encounter pirates and new enemies, while also making new friends and allies. After indulging in the opulence of France they will now head to the exotic islands in the Caribbean.
Perhaps the biggest new character being introduced this time around in Lord John Grey. David Berry has been cast to play this important role. Meanwhile, Production Designer Jon Gary Steele continues to tease behind the scenes pictures from the sets of “Outlander” Season 3 to help the fans get through droughtlander.
