'Outlander' season 4: Sam Heughan on Jamie's journey
A new interview with Sam Heughan (Jamie) about “Outlander” season 4 has surfaced online. The actor spoke about his character’s journey on the show this year, and the life of colonial America for the Frasers.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, a video of which has been posted on Facebook, Heughan explained how his character has always wanted to build a home, and be the laird of his own estate. He will get that chance in America, and this season is all about home for Jamie.
Heughan said that the driving factor for his character right now is to build a home and provide for his family and those around him. The actor pointed out that America isn’t fully formed yet in the timeline in which Jamie enters the country, and that means there are a lot of dangers they will have to face.
Although the TV series is set in colonial America, most of the filming actually took place in Scotland. Heughan personally visited North Carolina to get a feel of the land, and he saw a incredible resemblance between Scotland and North Carolina in the forests and mountain ranges.
Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will own a piece of land in North Carolina and build a home. The two will finally get to be happy together, but Heughan teased that this happiness will only last for a short period of time.
Heughan said that the Frasers have a lot of love and affection for this New World. Jamie and Claire will get to meet new characters there, which includes some extended family as well. Heughan said that some of these scenes will become fan favourites.
Apart from the romance, the fans can also look forward to some steamy sex scenes. Heughan didn’t tease any details, and simply said that the fans will have to watch to find out.
