Ever since the “Outlander” TV series began, there have been a lot of fans who want to see the onscreen romance between Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire) get transferred to real life. The two actors have repeatedly denied such relationship, but the questions don’t stop. In a recent interview, the actress once again said she is not dating her co-star from the Starz TV series.

“We aren’t and we’ve always said we’re not together. It’s nice fans believe in the story but that’s not the reality,” Balfe said in an interview with Irish Mirror. The actress has wrapped up filming the third season of the show and is currently looking at other projects before heading back to the production set of the Starz show. Filming of fourth season will begin in Scotland in about two months.

Balfe and Heughan have come a long way together, but the actress recalls how difficult it was for her when she initially worked on the show. The intimate scenes may look good on screen, but this was the first time Balfe did such scenes for a show. The actress revealed that she giggled her way through them.

Filming the intimate scenes was particularly challenging as there were a lot of people in the room, Balfe explained. Despite all the difficulties, the performance of the stars managed to win hearts across the globe.

Although fans have seen the episodes multiple times by now, there are a few episodes Balfe’s dad hasn’t yet seen. “I think for some members of my family it’s better they don’t,” Balfe said.

Balfe’s mum has seen all episodes, including the raunchy sex scenes, but they don’t discuss those with each other. For her dad, Balfe tells him which episodes he can watch.
