‘Outlander’ TV Series: Marriage Between Jamie And Claire Not A 'Happily Ever After,' Reveals Caitriona In New Video [Watch]
The producers of “Outlander” have released two new videos that show scenes of the next part of the first season. The executive producer of the TV series, the two lead cast members and the author of the book series, on which the show is based, shared some of their insights about what the fans will get to see in the upcoming episodes. [Warning: Spoiler Alert!]
The first video titled “The married life” reveals how the relationship between Jamie and Claire will develop after marriage. Ronald D. Moore, the executive producer, says in the video that he always found it “fascinating” that Jamie and Claire fall in love only after they are married. The two characters were forced to get married, as per Dougal’s plan, in order to escape the clutches of Black Jack.
Sam Heughan talks about how the relationship between the two characters begins to “expand,” as the two characters begin to know more about each other. The actor also revealed that the relationship between the two characters will be “tested” in the upcoming episodes of “Outlander.” A scene from one of the future episodes shows Jamie telling Claire that she is tearing his guts out.
Caitriona Balfe, the actress who plays the role of Claire in “Outlander,” says in the video that the two characters aren’t sharing a “happily ever after” life after the marriage. She pointed out that her character is still trying to understand her place in her new world and what her new relationship means to her. The character is torn between her love for Jamie and her love for her first husband, Frank.
Diana Gabaldon, the author of the book series on which the TV show is based, says in the video that there is a “powerful sense of physical attraction” between Jamie and Claire, but the protagonist is torn because of the love her new husband has for her.
The relationship between Claire and Jamie will develop with a backdrop of new challenges in the upcoming episodes of the “Outlander” TV series. Claire can be seen getting locked behind bars in one of the scenes in the video, and Jamie tells his wife to be careful in such “dangerous times.”
