'Outlander' TV series: Starz invites fans to watch the first season free, in preparation for Season 2 premiere
The excitement for “Outlander” Season 2 is building, as the premiere date approaches. Starz has now invited the fans to binge watch the first season for free on their website. The opportunity allows the fans to relive the big moments of Claire and Jamie’s journey.
The TV series is a Sci-Fi romance drama that is focused on Claire (Caitriona Balfe). Claire is a strong minded English woman in the 1940s. The TV show begins with Claire being reunited with her husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) after a long time. She was serving as a military nurse during the war and the two decide to travel to Scotland to rekindle the love for each other.
Once in Scotland, Claire somehow gets magically transported back in time to the 1700s, where she meets her husband’s infamous ancestor Black Jack Randall. She also meets a charismatic young Scottish warrior Jamie (Sam Heughan). Most of the first season deals with her struggles in the new time period and her quest to return to her husband.
The “Outlander” TV series won a lot of praise for the accurate portrayal of the Scottish culture and language of the time and for the attention to detail in the costumes and the sets. The next season takes Jamie and Claire to Paris, where they will attempt to change history and try to stop the Jacobite rebellion from taking place.
The next season promises a lot of political intrigue, along with some twists. The TV series is based on the books written by Diana Gabaldon. The next season of the show is based on the book “Dragonfly in Amber.”
“Outlander” Season 2 is set to premiere on April 9. Gabaldon has written the scripts for one of the episodes this time around, which is a first for her. Costume designer Terry Dresbach has come up with a whole new set of costumes for the show and the costumes will show the opulence of Paris during the 1700s.
