Pacquiao Earns A Shot At Floyd Jr, Says Undefeated Boxer’s Uncle Roger; Bout Can Take Place In Dubai, With $200 Million Fight Purse At Stake
Trainer and uncle to Floyd Mayweather Jr. revealed his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao's victory over Chris Algieri. With Manny's recent win, he believes that the Filipino boxing icon has earned a shot at Floyd's perfect record.
In an interview with Chris Robinson of Hustleboss, Roger said that Manny is worthy of a fight against Floyd. Coming off from a fresh 12-round win against Algieri in China, Manny has been pushing for a fight with Floyd and Roger feels that Manny has demonstrated that he indeed ought to have a chance to face Floyd in the ring.
"He deserves the fight," Roger said. "Pacquiao deserves the fight because he's had good wins."
The veteran trainer added that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight should happen because it is one of the "biggest fights" the fans have been dying to witness. Regarding whom he thinks will walk away with a victory if the fight finally takes place, Roger said that his nephew will give Manny another defeat.
Meanwhile, a fight purse worth $200 million is said to be put up just to make Floyd and Manny get in the ring together, the Boxing Scene reports. A group of investors from United Arab Emirates is reportedly willing to shell out the massive fight purse just to make the fight happen.
