The nominees for the 2014 Teen Choice Awards have been announced and the fans must vote for "The Vampire Diaries" if they want the CW TV series and its nominated cast members to win. The good news reached actor Paul Wesley, who portrays TVD character Stefan Salvatore, and he expressed his gratitude on Twitter.

"Thanks yet again! Flattered! @teenchoicenews @TeenChoiceGirl," Wesley, 31, posted on his Twitter account @paulwesley. Paul Wesley will be joining his "The Vampire Diaries" co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev in the Teen Choice list of nominees.

"The Vampire Diaries" is nominated in the Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi category at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. The CW TV series is competing against "Arrow," "Once Upon a Time," "Sleepy Hollow" and "Teen Wolf" in the category.

According to the E!Online report, "The Vampire Diaries" received multiple nominations at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards together with "Pretty Little Liars." The other TV series that garnered multiple nominations are "Glee," "The Big Bang Theory," "Twisted" and "The Fosters."

In the complete list of the Teen Choice Awards nominations, Paul Wesley is nominated in the Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy category as well as his co-star Ian Somerhalder, who portrays fan-favorite bad boy vampire Damon Salvatore. The other contenders in the category are Tyler Posey of "Teen Wolf," Josh Dallas of "Once Upon a Time" and Joseph Morgan from "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff series "The Originals."

As for Nina Dobrev, the 25-year-old actress is nominated for the Choice TV Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy award together with "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Kat Graham. The other nominees are Ginnifer Goodwin of "Once Upon a Time," Kristin Kreuk of "Beauty and The Beast" and Claire Holt of "The Originals."

Meanwhile, the Carter Matt report revealed that the TVD fans can vote for their favorite TV show in the "Ship of the Year" category at the MTVU Award. Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are nominated for the "Delena" or Damon-Elena relationship in "The Vampire Diaries."

The Damon and Elena "ship" are up against Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark of "The Hunger Games," John Watson and Sherlock of "Sherlock," Stiles and Derek of "Teen Wolf" and Dean Winchester and Castiel of "Supernatural." Fans can vote for their favorite "ship" in this link.

The 2014 Teen Choice Awards is scheduled to air live on August 10, 2014 on Fox.
