‘Peaky Blinders’ season 4 news: More brummies, less violence and a new love affair
“Peaky Blinders” season 4 is sure to return but with some tweaks and updates. According to reports, Tommy (Cillian Murphy) will be seen moving mountains to win back his family’s trust in the upcoming season. Fans are waiting for answers as to what became of the Shelbys, who were last seen marching off in handcuffs for murder. Will Tom be able to acquit them of their charges?
There is very little information available on “Peaky Blinders” season 4 at the moment. Meanwhile, a possible scenario has been chalked out. Here’s what can be expected from the show’s fourth season:
Tom Shelby’s new love
Tom will doubtlessly love no other woman as much as he loved Grace (Annabelle Wallis). But the leader of Peaky Blinders will still need a good woman to stand by him. Tom was previously seen in a carnal liaison with Tatiana (Gaite Jansen), a Russian duchess, after Grace’s death. But she has been perceived as someone who can’t be trusted.
As such, the Birmingham Mail deliberates the Birmingham-born duo, Cherrelle Skeete and Esther Smith, as the probable new love interest in Thomas Shelby’s life. The report further casts actresses Cat Deeley, Felicity Jones and Lauren Crace in the lineup.
More of Birmingham
Despite “Peaky Blinders” being essentially a Birmingham-based story, the series is filmed mostly in Liverpool and Cheshire. The only Birmingham set location is the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley. Nechells, Hockley, Maypole and Moseley were all mentioned in season 3 but none of the places were actually shown. So, it’s likely that the next season of “Peaky Blinders” could show more of locations from the suburbs of Birmingham.
New cast with local actors
It has become vital for the series to have more local actors in order to look more realistic. Though the accents have somehow settled down, fans will still need more authentic Brummies to relate to. It has been alleged the show is likely to rope in the likes of David Harewood, Adrian Lester and Duane Henry. However, nothing is confirmed yet. Steven Knight’s long-time friend Jasper Carrott reportedly could also appear in a cameo role.
That’s not all, by the way. Arthur Darvill from “Doctor Who” and Birmingham City Football Club manager Gary Rowett too could have a role each in “Peaky Blinders” season 4, as reported by Birmingham Mail.
Lesser violence and swearing
“Peaky Blinders” is notorious for strong language and violent scenes. No doubt, that has been the way with the Shelbys. However, the same could have an adverse effect on the viewers, especially children who are fond of the show. It is, therefore, conjectured that the upcoming season of the show could tone down the strength by a bit.
Filming of the series’ fourth season begins this month. Showrunner Steven Knight has been writing the script for series four. The show has been anticipated for an October release in the UK. However, nothing has been confirmed so far.
