On September 14, 2013, the Duke of Cambridge, accompanied by Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton, attended the wedding of James Meade, one of his closest friends, to Lady Laura Marsham (daughter of the eighth Earl of Romney) at St. Nicholas Church in Gayton, Norfolk. The wedding held in King's Lynn was no casual affair, England, the ceremony included elegant ensembles, striking hats, accessories and some noteworthy guests.

As Prince William, Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton were all present at the ceremony , so Kate Middleton and Prince George were really missed. Lady Laura Marsham and James Meade are close friends of royal family so Prince William was an usher at the ceremony that's why Kate's absence seemed a bit strange. The Duchess of Cambridge initially planned on attending the wedding ceremony, but later cancelled it.

"Kate's still breast feeding so to be out for the whole day and the night before, was a bit too much at the moment," "She would have loved to go but it just wasn't possible." a source told Us Weekly

Pippa Middleton, 30, looked elegant and beautiful in loose-fitting silhouette which include a Tabitha Webb 'Daffodil' knee-length teal lace dress and a matching feathered headpiece. She completed the look with low heels and a stylish clutch bag.

Prince William joined members of the wedding party for a lunch at a country pub with the groom, before the ceremony. From Lady Laura's family home in Gayton to The Dabbling Duck pub in Great Massingham the group of 15 were driven on the 5-mile trip in a shooting party trailer pulled by a Land Rover.

General manager of the Dappling Duck, Mark Orton said that the Prince William had been to the pub before.

"They just ate off our ordinary September menu and had a regular lunch before the ceremony. Prince William has been here before and he is treated like any other customer. He was here to enjoy himself which he certainly did."

After the wedding, guests headed to Gayton Hall for a reception. Prince William walked just behind the bride and groom, ahead of the other 270 guests. Mr. Meade and Prince William are close friends since their school days at Eton. After William and Kate's wedding in 2011, Mr. Meade delivered a joint best man's speech with Thomas van Straubenzee at Buckingham Palace.

In 2007, when Kate Middleton for a short time split from William Mr. Meade escorted her to the Badminton Horse Trials. So he is close to both the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge.
