Pippa Middleton's May 2017 wedding details: Her ring, the ceremony and reception + Kate Middleton's role on the big day
Pippa Middleton’s wedding is getting closer and closer and despite all efforts to keep the wedding low-key and secret, details of the big day are slowly becoming public information. While the actual date of the wedding is still under wraps, it is clear now that the special event -- which the royal grandchildren are likely to take part in -- will happen sometime in six short months.
A friend of the 33-year-old bride-to-be told People Magazine that the wedding is scheduled for May 2017. “She is super excited and already planning everything,” the source told the publication. The friend then went on to say that Pippa’s engagement ring is believed to have been made by Robinson Pelham and designed by her 41-year-old fiancé, James Matthews.
Robinson Pelham designed the earrings that Pippa’s royal sister, Kate Middleton, wore on her own wedding. And while the two sisters are close, various media outlets have claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge will not be part of the upcoming wedding, in fear of stealing too much of the spotlight from the bride.
Because of this, several publications have claimed that Kate might be asked to simply read something for the wedding. Her role would therefore be short and sweet and would not take much away from the bride. Another possibility is that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be asked to be the page boy and the flower girl, thereby taking Kate’s familial responsibilities as their own.
Pippa and James will reportedly tie the knot at a ceremony at St Mark’s in Englefield, Berkshire. A small reception with just 150 guests will follow at the back garden of the Middleton residence. “There’s been a lot of speculation that Pippa would get married at her fiancé’s hunting lodge in Scotland or have a massive bash in London,” a source admitted to The Sun. “But she’s a traditional girl and just wanted to get married at home.”
