Guess who is going to host the upcoming American Music Awards (AMA) on Sunday? It's none other than the most popular artist Pitbull. Armando Christian Pérez, better known by his stage name Pitbull, will come to Los Angeles to enthrall the audience with his antics as a host for the most prestigious awards happening on November 24. The rapper, who is in demand by almost all artists today, will also perform on his latest single "Timber" with Ke$ha.

So how does the Miami born rapper feel about being the host to the most glamorous night of America? "I am truly honored to be hosting the 2013 American Music Awards," says Pitbull in a press statement. "The night is only about one thing: fun! So buckle and get ready. Dále!" The "Give Me Everything" rapper will be the show's first host since 2008.

AMA is known for highlighting Latin artists over the year and hence the association chose Pitbull as a host. There is a lot happening at this year's AMA's with the awards celebrating the 25th anniversary of Gloria Estefan's historic performance at the 1988 AMAs. Estefan was the first Latin AMA performer and the awards are celebrating her achievement.

What else do we have to look forward to apart from the performance of Pitbull and Ke$ha? Lots more actually. Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, One Direction and Florida Georgia Line are all set to perform at the star studded night in Los Angeles.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis lead this year's nominees with six nods. Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake each have five nominations, while Robin Thicke and Rihanna each garnered four. Rihanna will be honoured with a special Icon Award for her achievements in her career. Fans of the various artists can log on to the AMAs Web site now to cast vote for this year's winners.
