‘Pitch Perfect 3’ cast ‘The Crown’ star John Lithgow

Fans can surely expect to see new faces in “Pitch Perfect 3." Most recently, the film has casted “The Crown” star John Lithgow. Although he is sure to join the movie, his role in the third film of the franchise remains to be a mystery.

Lithgow gets the chance to work alongside Anna Kendrick (Beca), Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy), Hailee Steinfeld (Emily), Chrissie Fit (Flo), Kelly Jakle (Jessica), Ester Dean (Cynthia Rose) and other “Pitch Perfect 3” cast. It will be interesting to see what role he will play in the film.

It is unlikely that Lithgow is cast as one of the newest members of Barden Bellas. Fans of the Universal Pictures and Gold Circle Entertainment musical comedy franchise are aware that Barden Bellas is an all-female a cappella group at Barden University and it seems impossible that it will recruit a male member.

The actor played the role of Winston Churchill in “The Crown" and gained a Golden Globes nomination for his performance in the TV show. He was most recently spotted in Beatriz at “Dinner,” which premiered at Sundance. Variety has first reported his casting in the film.

Apart from his role in the aforementioned Netflix series, Lithgow has also appeared in various television shows. These include “3rd Rock from the Sun” and “Dexter.

He has also taken his acting talent in the big screens. He has starred in films like “Blow Out,” “The World According to Garp,” “Terms of Endearment,” “Twilight Zone: The Movie,” “Footloose,” “Harry and the Hendersons,” “Raising Cain,” and “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.”

The actor is recognised for his performances. He has already received two Tony Awards, five Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, an American Comedy Award and four Drama Desk Awards. The “Pitch Perfect 3” actor has also obtained a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame.

Gold Circle Entertainment’s Paul Brooks and Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions are the producers of “Pitch Perfect 3.” The upcoming film is under the direction of Trish Sie, with a script written by Kay Cannon and a draft from Mike White.

Trinidad James was also cast for “Pitch Perfect 3.” His role is one of the members of a singing group competing against the Barden Bellas.

Fans can see more of Lithgow when the film hits the big screens. “Pitch Perfect 3” is expected to hit Australian theatres on Dec. 22.
