Plants vs. Zombies 2: 10 Essential Tips & Tricks to Wipe Out Undead Quickly and Clear Out Star Missions & Pirate Stages
Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time is scheduled to be released worldwide in July 18, 2013 and was released earlier in Australia and New Zealand. If you have the game already, check out these 10 tips and tricks to defeat the zombies quickly and effectively.
1. Use randomly offered objects on the most pressing lanes to prevent zombies penetrating your lawn. If you are given a defensive tool, place it at the lane which doesn't have any firepower to defend it, while an offensive tool should be placed in the lane having the most threat.
2. Just like with the prequel, Sunflowers are needed and it is suggested to plant as many as you need to keep a steady amount of sun for planting. For each level, at least three sunflowers should be at play, but you shouldn't focus on planting sunflowers every turn or you'll suffer from zombie attacks due to lack of defence. Alternately, plant sunflowers with offensive and defensive plant species.
3. Potato Mine is very useful in each stage and costs only 25 sun points. It recharges quickly and is incredibly useful due to its low cost as you prepare building your economy and much faster to defend your base in early rounds. You can use this as an alternative offensive plant to help you balance your resources.
4. Use the Wall-nut to defend your base and keep the zombies at bay while buying a little time. It will help you manage your lawn into order as you prepare with offensive plants. Although is a good defensive strategy, the Wall-nut can be troublesome at times due to its long recharge time.
5. Power Ups in Plants vs. Zombies 2 are very powerful and recommended to be used for Star Missions since these stages are more difficult than normal ones. Never use them in the main campaign missions but instead focus on earning coins so you can spend them for the Star Missions. The best power-up is the Gusty Wind which will clear the entire field of zombies instantly.
6. Plants capable of firing through three lanes should be placed in the middle of the map to deal full damage to zombies. Fire-flinging plant is a pretty good offensive, firing through three lanes, low cost (150 suns) and clears out many undead creatures by dealing devastating amount of damage.
7. Some zombies in the Egyptian stages are protected by pottery. For quick kill, plant the Bloomberg to chip out zombies with pottery or armour.
8. Plant food can help you a lot in Star Missions. Use them on your sun-generating flowers and offensive units to earn certain amount of sunlight over a very short period of time.
9. Unlock the Cherry Bomb and an extra plant slot as soon as you can. You'll need it in the Pirate Stages to clear out zombie overrun instantly.
10. Do not forget that removing certain items on your lawn will actually give you some refund, so manage your lawn from time to time. It is important to place a limit on how many plants in each lane and how many are taking space on your lawn. In this way, they are easy to manage and give you extra spaces during emergencies.
