Plants vs. Zombies 2: More Gameplays; New Plants and Levels [VIDEOS]
Plants vs. Zombies 2 really packs a punch in terms of the levels and varied techniques and add-ons, making it an entirely different game from its predecessor.
Here are five more gameplay videos featuring unique levels, new plans, and new zombies that you can try out once the game is released worldwide.
Mini memory game
Just like the name implies, Mummy Memory is a memory game without the need for plants. You have to flip the cards of the zombies and match a pair in order to destroy them.
They're progressing towards your territory and you have no other protection other than your memory, so make sure you destroy the zombies as fast as you can.
Like in most memory games, you can only flip two cards at a time. As for the zombies, they can start at any point in the grid, as they come from under the ground instead of from the far right area of the screen.
To earn a star in this level, you have to match the symbols, which will then destroy the zombies.
Save the seeds
For the first level of save the seeds, you need to survive and protect the endangered plants and avoid losing any lawnmowers, so that you can get a star.
Here, the endangered plants are the three sunflowers on the striped yellow and black boxes.
Battle the yeti
The yeti also makes an appearance in Plants vs. Zombies 2. This time, it can randomly appear in any level. You'll be notified if a yeti zombie has spawned somewhere, and the best thing to do is immediately go after that zombie.
According to the game, defeating the zombie in the level that it spawned will allow you to get great prizes in the game, so it's worth a shot. Of course, you have to meet the criteria of the level and earn the star if you want the prize--which unfortunately, this video didn't meet.
Coconut Cannons--shoot down those zombies
One of the fun levels in the pirate seas involves the row of Coconut Cannons, where the main goal is to blow up as many zombies as you can.
Instead of doing the usual planting, you only have to press on the Coconut Cannons to take down the hordes of zombies.
The catch here is that you have to wait for the cannons to recharge after you've fired them. This level's goal is for you to reach the target score of 5,000 points, but given the number of zombies that you can take down, you can easily get this score.
What's more, after the level, you can unlock the Coconut Cannons for yourself, though it costs 400 when you play it in the other levels.
Another Wild West gameplay--with a new plant
Compared to the Ancient Egypt map, there are only a few gameplay videos that venture into the Wild West, but this one in particular shows off new zombies and unlocks a new plant.
For the new and fairly difficult zombie to finish, this level has a piano player who brings with it its own horde of tap dancing zombies.
Kind of reminds you of the Michael Jackson Thriller zombie from the first game, which also comes with backup dancer zombies. Only for this set of dancers, they can change the row that they're walking on, making it a little trickier to put them down.
At the end of the level, the Chili Bean plant has also been unlocked. As seen in the video, the Chili Bean defeats zombies that eat the plant, while forcing them to release gas. This means that this is one of those plants that you want to be eaten by the zombie.
The only clincher here is that the plant is worth a one-time use only, and for just one zombie, which can be a waste, but it's hilarious to try it once to see a zombie literally fart himself to death.
