Now that more details have been revealed about the Xbox One--previously known as the Xbox 720/Infinity or Durango--it seems that the next issue at hand would be the price. After all, even with the many offered specs and new content, it's not easy to say that you can buy the next-gen console of your choice without wise budgeting for gaming needs.

However, according to GameSpot, the chief financial officer of GameStop Rob Lloyd has revealed that the next-gen consoles may even be priced lower than the opening prices that the current-gen consoles had during their respective launches.

This means that, if you were able to buy either the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360 when they were first launch, chances are you can also get the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One without sacrificing all other basic needs to survive.

In addition to the prediction, it looks like GameStop is also looking forward to a fairly bright 2013 in terms of earnings, not just with upcoming games, but also with the news of the Xbox One.

"The expectations are that we're going to have a tough first half until we see titles like Grand Theft Auto and new consoles," said Lloyd to Reuters.

After the release of the said consoles, including the holiday release of both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, Reuters adds that GameStop expects up to 7 cents per share, with an 8 cents per share profit.

From Dead Island to Dying Light

Don't confuse the recently released Dead Island with the new horror game from the same developer, Techland. Dying Light is slated for release on multiplatform and cross-platform.

EuroGamer reports that the survival horror game as played from the first-person point of view will be set in a day-night cycle and have an open-world style gameplay.

With Warner Bros. as backing publisher, the next-gen technology being part of the dynamics, and the ever sell-able idea of scavenging for supplies while fending off infected zombie-like creatures with weapons, Dying Light may shape up to be another hit game title.

Need for Speed title finally announced

After some silent time from developer Ghost Games, a new Need for Speed title has finally been announced, and it will also be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The game Need for Speed Rivals will be another round of cops vs. racers in Redview Country, and according to Game Informer, there will be career paths for both sides. This means that racers get points for evading cops and gain notoriety, but, as in real life, the more notorious you are, the higher the risk of losing more Speedpoints when you are caught.

Cops can also collaborate in team and rise up the ranks to get better cars, with the use of 11 upgrades, which is also the system for racers.

Game Informer adds that the game also has an online component, which is the AllDrive that lets you mix single and multiplayer gaming any time. You can already preorder the game in particular retailers and get the bonus Ultimate Cop Pack, which will have the Nissan GT-R Black Edition cruiser, an unspecified pursuit tech, and custom livery.
