Playstation VR headphones review: Plantronics RIG 4VR and Turtle Beach Stealth 350 VR
Plantronics RIG 4VR is the first headphones designed around PlayStation VR. However, the Turtle Beach Stealth 350 VR tries to beat the Plantronics RIG 4VR performance. Here are some features in each kind and the verdict which headphones win.
Plantronics RIG 4VR vs Turtle Beach Stealth 350 VR features
Plantronics RIG 4VR features noise-cancelling microphone attachments for multiplayer VR games. It has a self-adjusting headband, headset frame and a removable mic boom. It has a cable which is compatible with wireless controllers and Playstation VR. It also features vented earcups.
The Plantronics RIG 4VR comes with 40 mm drivers that aim to provide accurate positional audio cues. It also features low-frequency resonators to boost the bass response and to ensure that the bass does not overpower the soundscapes.
On the other hand, Turtle Beach Stealth 350VR features a noise-cancelling microphone, USB charging cable, short audio cable and long audio cable. The cables are interchangeably compatible with PlayStationVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation 4. It has a volume control placed on the left ear. However, the sound quality does not meet the standards of high-end headphones as a bit of background noise is noticeable. It also comes with a starter guide that helps users to set it up.
The Turtle Beach Stealth 350VR earcups are very light and very soft making it comfortable to wear. However, the VR headphone earcups are a bit flimsy and a bit too loose making the headset slip off during games.
The Playstation VR headphone Plantronics RIG 4VR is more comfortable than the Turtle Beach Stealth 350VR. It is also sturdier making it more secure when playing a game.
The Turtle Beach Stealth 350VR battery lasts up to 30 hours which requires charging, while the Plantronics RIG 4VR don't need charging at all.
