With only days before the launch date of Pokemon X & Y, here's a quick roundup of the Pokemon that could be expected in the game.

Starter Pokemons have been revealed, reports NowGamer, starting with Gourgeist, which is an evolution of Pumpkaboo, a ghost/grass type that seems almost a fitting pocket monster for Halloween.

Another Pokemon, this time an ice type-- Bergmite, was leaked alongside its evolution Avalugg, which turns the small ice chunk into a pretty big, four-legged iceberg-type creature.

The last of the leaked new Pokemons include the six-legged Barbaracle, whose arms are able to move independently from its head (but still follows the head's orders). This is a rock/water type Pokemon.

You may also have heard a number of final starters to come out, and LazyGamer has compiled three of them. The first is the evolution of Froakie to Frogadier, and Greninja. Interestingly, this Pokemon starts off looking like a frog, then a cross between a salamander and a frog, and then the final evolution which looks like it has the head of a fox.

There's also a Chespin, whose face pretty much undergoes intense evolution, first to the still mild-looking Quilladin, and then to Chestnaught, who almost looks like a Pokemon mecha.

There's also Fennekin, which starts out as a cutesy-looking fox, which evolves to Braixen (now standing on two legs and seems to be wearing a dress), and finally evolves into Delphox, who now seems to be wearing a full-blown gown.

Pokemon X & Y event to launch in New York

October 12 is the launch date for Pokemon X & Y and those who will be in New York the day before will have a chance to stand first in line to buy a copy and enjoy the one-time launch event.

According to Polygon, the launch will happen at the Rockefeller Center starting 8 p.m. ET. Nintendo will immediately start selling the game at the event.

Those who want to demo the game first before purchasing a copy can do so at the launch event. Fans can also take their photos of inflatable Pokemon models of the game.

A new Pokemon game in the works

With Pokemon X and Y about to hit the shelves come October 12, a new Pokemon game is immediately coming in.

Videogamer has found an entry via Gematsu that another Pokemon game is already in development; and this time, Pikachu will be taking centerstage. This seems to be the official statement coming from the developers' lead Tsunekazu Ishihara.

"It's a new game featuring the very popular character Pikachu in a bold way. There is concern, however, that if it's bad the long loved character would lose popularity in the blink of an eye," according to the developer.

Does this bold way mean a radically different treatment of the character? Or is it a new angle to the overall Pokemon as a franchise?

Other reports have suggested that it may be a mega-evolution on the part of Pikachu. Everyone else has had evolutions, and while the iconic yellow electric pocket monster is pretty much the mainstay face of Pokemon, a remake of that may be what the franchise needs to progress.
