The PS4 has just won over the Xbox One in a recent poll from Reuters/Ipsos for the U.S. market. This time, Sony's next-gen console is looking at another win by potentially outselling Microsoft's next-gen Xbox.

Taken from the IDC report, VG 24/7 reports that the PS4 has several advantages, with the lower price just being one of the main ones.

The release of the next-gen consoles is also predicted to affect PC-based digital sales, putting the revenue up for Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus. One of the possible reasons for these may also be China's new market for consoles. With the ban now slowly being lifted, the coming months could prove to be a good way for both the PS4 and the Xbox One to find their footing in the Chinese market.

One thing to watch out for would be Steam Machines. Even though the hardware is still awaiting for 2014, the window between the release date for Sony's and Microsoft's consoles will be a very tight one. Kudos to Sony to seeing the potential of Valve's upcoming PC-consoles--it's the first step to ensuring that it won't lag behind in 2014.

PS4 Bundled with PS Vita: If It's a Nice Idea, Sony Just Might Do It

Bundles for the PS4 were supposedly not the biggest concern for Sony, as it previously stated that there won't be any gaming bundles. But with the release of the official "Killzone: Shadow Fall" and "Watch Dogs" PS4 bundles, the rumoured PS4 and PS Vita bundle might just make its appearance.

CVG reports that while the bundle is not yet official, Fergal Gara of Sony U.K. says that they are not closing off the possibility of announcing this bundle.

"Seeing the consumer reaction and actually an upsurge in Vita sales immediately following that demo ["Assassin's Creed 4" at Gamescom] was very encouraging to see," said Mr Gara in an interview quoted by CVG.

"Right now, as I sit here today, we're not producing a box that fits a PS4 and PS Vita in that one box. We could probably change our mind in the morning and still have it ready for launch to be honest so it's not a big decision. It's not a hard thing to do," he added.

The PS Vita is touted as the PS4's ultimate companion as it allows for remote play and access to your PS Vita. You can also turn on the PS4 remotely via the PS Vita and download the game even when you're away from your living room for instant play later.

It's still a whole month away until the PS4 release date of Nov 15 for the U.S. and, sometime later, on Nov 29 for Europe, so if Sony hears more positive feedback for the bundle, it just might make it happen.

PS4 App: What's the Deal?

For the most part, what is known about the PS4 app is that it will be available for the iOS and Android for free on the same release date as the PS4.

PlayStation Blog has talked to Sony Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida to inquire about other features of the app and he reveals mores uses, starting with remote access. The PS4 app lets you communicate with friends and the events happening in the PlayStation community. You can connect to your PS4 profile, send messages to people who are using the PS4, receive and check invitations, and even purchase games from the PS Store.

But one of the newly revealed features allows the PS4 app to be an app-for-all for other developers who want to offer the smart device-integrated experience to the game.

"Smaller developers can use PlayStation App to connect to PS4 and load an application, like drawing software for example, so that you don't have to download and install a specific app on your smartphone," said Mr Yoshida. "It's open to all PS4 developers to use," he added.

This may be Sony's way of making life easier for both PS4 game developers and gamers--imagine just having one app for your indie games instead of having a lot of apps for different games.
