Princess Sofia of Sweden and her husband Prince Carl Philip do not want to know the gender of their baby. The couple who are currently in New York taking some time off from their royal duties told reporters about their plans at the Newark airport on Thursday. “It’ll be a surprise,” Sofia said to the Swedish publication Expressen.

The 30-year-old royal said that it felt great. The royal couple are expecting their first child together in April and said that they were not planning to find of the gender of their upcoming arrival, People reports. The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Stockholm in June.

Her husband Carl Philip also revealed that he has been offered some parenting advice from his sisters Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Princess Madeleine, Hello reports. “We’ve talked, but I'm not going into what they told me!” said the 36-year-old prince.

Carl Philip and Sofia announced their baby news via an official statement in October. The royal couple are on a private visit to New York where they will spend a few days, before getting back to their respective schedules. Sofia flew in from South Africa after some work for her charities, Project Playground, according to Royal Court spokeswoman Margareta Thorgren.

Sofia has continued with her royal duties throughout her pregnancy. She is expected to give birth to their child in April, 2016. Sofia will resume her royal duties at the end of the month. But, she is not the only Swedish royal who is expecting a baby.

Victoria, Sofia’s sister-in-law is also expecting her second child with her husband Prince Daniel in March 2016. The heir to the Swedish throne joked about her new arrival, telling reporters that her daughter Princess Estelle would prefer a pet hamster than a baby brother or sister on Wednesday. Victoria and her husband Daniel were carrying out an official engagement at Karlstad University in Värmland.

The 38-year-old royal dressed her growing baby bump in a pale blue coat from her favourite maternity brand Seraphine. She wore a navy printed dress for the visit underneath her coat which was also by Séraphine. Victoria’s dress featured three-fourth length sleeves and a plunging neckline. She paired it with black transparent stockings and black high heels.
