Princess Sofia of Sweden popularly known by her maiden name Sofia Hellqvist opted for a bright red coat during her two-day trip to Älvdalen in Dalarna province on Monday. The stylish royal recycled a coat that was worn by her sister-in-law Crown Princess Victoria during her name day in March 2011 and previous occasions.

The 30-year-old wife of Prince Carl Philip paired the recycled coat with black pants and a black and white top, Hello reported. Sofia teamed her outfit with matching ankle-length boots, while her long brunette tresses were left loose over her shoulders.

“It was pretty nervous coming home here today in an entirely new role. It feels unbelievable,” Sofia told Swedish publication Expressen, about visiting the place where she grew up. She added that the years that she spent here made her what she is today. The new princess also told that Dalarna will always have a very special place in her heart – especially Älvdalen.

Earlier, Sofia who got married to Carl Philip in a lavish royal wedding in June, said that her first few months as a princess was surprising as there was an incredible response from people. She added that it was a wonderful feeling to be a princess, Svensk Dam reported.

Sofia also apologized to locals from her hometown for not speaking to them in the traditional Norse dialect of Elfdalian. The brunette beauty said that she was part of a generation where (learning to speak Elfdalian) was not thought to be cool. Sofia said that in order to speak properly, she has to do her homework.

Earlier, the royal couple met kids in Borlänge. The pair also wrote their names on the wall of the historic Falun Mine as part of the royal tradition. They also baked bread in Skedvi Brod bakery in Landsvagen, People reported.

Princess Sofia has become a style icon and takes inspiration from Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine. The Swedish royal sisters have warmly welcomed the new member of their family and opened their wardrobes to her. At many engagements, Sofia has been seen wearing her sisters-in-law’s outfits.

In 2013, Sofia recycled an item from Victoria’s wardrobe when she attended the wedding of Gustaf Magnuson in Stockholm. She paired her pink floral dress with a matching short fur jacket. Victoria had worn the fur jacket twice in the same year.
