Prince George was seen with his dad Prince William at St Mary's Hospital on May 2. The little royal was there to meet his newborn baby sister Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana in the Lindo Wing of the hospital. All eyes were on the toddler as he alighted from the car with his dad in a blue cardigan. The father-son duo looked adorable in matching outfits and the world media waiting outside to catch a glimpse of the new princess went into a frenzy. In spite of his baby sister being in the spotlight with her birth, he stole the show in his navy Sous Marine cardigan from Amaia Kids.

The cardigan sold out very quickly after the little royal was spotted wearing it. “Yes we unfortunately sold out all of our cardigans but hoping to have them back in stock in two weeks. We feel very honoured to see Prince George wearing our clothes; he is the cutest model we could ever ask for,” a spokesperson for the designer told E Online. Speaking on behalf of the brand, the spokesperson also said that they were thrilled for Kate Middleton and her newborn baby, Princess Charlotte.

Prince William and George carefully matched their clothes for the public appearance. Little George matched his blue cardigan with white shirts and shorts set by Rachel Riley from the brand’s Heritage collection. The white cotton shirt had blue piping turn-up-blue cord shorts with pearl effect buttons. William donned a matching blue cardigan, white shirt and blue jeans to meet his daughter.

The British children’s clothing company posted a picture of George with his dad waving to the people outside the Lindo Wing of the hospital on Instagram on May 3. The company even wrote that the 21-month-old royal was wearing an Amaia. Even Riley in her statement said that they were happy to see Prince George dressed in their collection for the historic occasion. She added that traditional British clothes were in limelight with Kate Middleton choosing to dress her son in the simple yet classic design. Riley also congratulated William, Kate and their family on the new birth.

Earlier, a pair of navy smocked dungarees with sailboat design from the then-obscure luxury children’s brand sold out within hours after people saw images of the toddler wearing them in April 2014. The obsession with Prince George’s wardrobe started right after his birth in 2013, when his parents introduced him to the world for the first time in an ivory merino wool shawl. The blanket was from a small family-run business in Nottingham, G H Hurt & Son. The company was inundated with requests for the same blanket, from the UK and all over the world, with the requests even extending up to the U.S., Australia and Japan. Even when the little princess was seen wrapped in the same shawl on May 2, the company admitted that it has been flooded with requests for the same shawl on their website "webshop."
