Prince William Will Get $15.5 Million Inheritance on His 30th Birthday
It will be happy birthday indeed for the Duke of Cambridge when he turns 30 in just a few hours. As a lush birthday gift for William, he will have access to the $15.5 million inheritance left by his mother, Princess Diana.
He is the Duke of Cambridge with a beautiful and supportive wife by his side, not only that, he has gained new status as operational captain in the Royal Air Force Search and Rescue Force. He will also have a fun summer to fall activities thanks to the London Olympics, not to mention a Royal tour in Asia. To add up to all these, an additional $15.5 is added to his bank account.
In honor of his 30th birthday, the Duke of Cambridge will inherit his share from his late mother's estate. Princess Diana who died in 1997 from a car crash, left William and Harry shares from her stocks, jewelry and money from the divorce settlement from Prince Charles.
Although the inheritance is not particularly the cause for celebration, but William, with the help of Kate would probably come up with a good use of it. Although money is there in the first place, the Duke and Duchess aren't really the type to live an extra lavish lifestyle. Kate for instance only has one pair of her signature L.K. Bennett pumps which she had resoled last summer. She also has a practical habit of repeating and mixing up her wardrobe.
According to London's Telegraph newspaper, Diana left an estimate of $31 for her two sons and William will inherit half. When Diana drafted her will, William and Harry were originally to gain access to their trust funds when they reach 25, but the executors have changed it to 30 years old following her death.
