It was one of the few moments when Prince William openly talked about his heartbreak over missing his late mother, Princess Diana.

During the interview he had with Katie Couric, Prince William said that although his wedding day was a happy moment in his life, it was also a "difficult" time for him. William pointed out that since his mother's death, his wedding day was the one time he really missed her and felt sad that she couldn't be there.

On "The Jubilee Queen With Katie Couric" which was aired on ABC, The Duke of Cambridge openly talked about his heartbreak and sadness remembering her mother Princess Diana.

"It's the one time since she's died where I've thought to myself it would be fantastic if she was here, and just how sad really for her, more than anything, not being able to see it," William said in his heartfelt interview.

"I think she would have loved the day and I think, hopefully, she'd be very proud of us both for the day. I'm just very sad that she's never going to get a chance to meet Kate," Prince William added.

Even for Prince Harry, he remembered how he missed her mother acutely during the special event. The Prince said that Diana would probably have had the best seat for William and Kate's wedding day.

"I think she had the best seat in the house probably. She would have loved to have been there," Harry said. "The whole thing was a bit of a blur to be honest because there was God knows how many millions or billions of eyes focused on us. Luckily, mainly those two."

Katie Couric's interview with the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry was part of the Diamond Jubilee celebration to honor their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, for her 60 year's in power.
