Lifetime Network's Project Runway remains unfazed and will continue to use its banned racy billboard in New York City as planned. The steamy had has been banned in Los Angeles but a new version with men and women wearing underwear will be used to replace the naked bodies.

The end doesn’t always justify the means. As if fitting for the show’s program format, Project Runway cries for clothing needs for the naked bodies featured in the billboard found in the streets of Los Angeles.

But it was too racy for L.A. and the city officials decided to put down the steamy ad, featuring naked men and women. Project Runway does not always go for tabloid publicities. This is the first time the program has walked the extra miles to drum up publicities for a show with contestants that don’t rely on bare-skin publicities to face creative challenges.

But it did this time.

A look at the photo posted on Twitter by the program host and supermodel, Heidi Klum, showed that the men and women captured for the publicity are indeed naked. Though no private parts of the human body are explicitly shown in the image, it still represents nudity and the L.A. city officials think, it may be “too obscene to be displayed all across the city's skyline. It would have given drivers stuck in traffic something to ogle, though,” according to Latin Post.

Adhering to the demands made by the city officials, the show’s officials have pulled the ad. But another version of the photo is reportedly going to be in the streets in no time - - this time, the men and women in the photo will be wearing underwear. The original version, banned by L.A. will be posted in New York streets.

Heidi Klum posted the racy ad on Twitter and said: “@ProjectRunway Designers! We need clothing for these people! Fast! Season 12 starts July 18th on @lifetimetv!"

Project runway kicks off its Season 12 on July 18. It will be aired on Lifetime network.
