The upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2014 will be an exciting event for PlayStation fans, as Sony's planned lineup of games gets showcased a week before the event. It seems that Sony is just as excited to reveal its plans, as it will top off the event with a PlayStation booth for competitions and events.

DualShockers reports that PlayStation Plus members who will be attending the event will enjoy special treatment in the form of preferential access to the lounge where they will have their own place to try out games compared to the general public.

A total of 23 PS4 games will be playable at TGS 2014, including big titles such as the following:

- Minecraft PS4 Edition

- FIFA 15

- Resident Evil 2: Revelations

- Bloodeborne

- Destiny

- Driveclub

- The Order: 1886

- Little Big Planet 3

- The Evil Within

Interestingly, only two titles will be playable for the PS3, "Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix" and "Tales of Zestiria" while the PS Vita has 15 games lined up. "Minecraft" fans who have been waiting for updates on the PS Vita version will be happy to know that the title will be playable at the event. The complete list of games is accessible in the link above.

Fans who won't be able to attend need not be left out from all the excitement, as there is also a planned PlayStation App that will be released especially for the event. This will show off a booth map, a schedule of events and, most importantly, a livestream for those who can't attend TGS 2014.

Other parties are also eyeing the development and progress of the Project Morpheus, which is also part of Sony's TGS 2014 lineup. Its main competitor and rival in the market, Oculus Rift has been in production far longer than Project Morpheus, and has been an evolving project since it first came out to public with its design.

But between the rise of Project Morpheus and its buyout for Facebook, some have wondered where this stands in relation to the PS4 accessory. Eurogamer has managed to get an interview with Oculus Rift's Palmer Luckey and Nate Mitchell, and asked whether the Project Morpheus has changed the course of where Oculus Rift is heading.

"They've taken a lot of ideas from the Rift's design and put it into Morpheus, so there's not a lot of inspiration to draw on, backwards," Mitchell said in the exclusive with Eurogamer. The developers do find something good in the production of Project Morpheus, and one that can affect VR gaming in general. "The one thing that is really good about it is that if they do turn it into a product... then they'll invest into the ecosystem, which means that more developers will have more money to make better games. And also, there'll be a broader audience for VR games."

Granted that the Oculus Rift developers are looking at the Project Morpheus more as a demo device rather than one meant for release for the public, this may change depending on how Sony plans to tackle the information that will be revealed in TGS 2014.
