Aside from the upcoming games for the PS4, there is another feature that gamers are looking forward to in 2014: the Gaikai launch. Slated for a 2014 debut for the PS4, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House has confirmed that it is still scheduled to launch on the anticipated timeframe.

"We're still on track for a 2014 launch of the commercial service. It's a brand new proposition: we're pioneering a different way to experience games, i.e. server-delivered from the cloud," said House in a statement quoted by The Examiner. "And we're taking a very gradual, step-by-step approach because, first and foremost, we want to ensure that it's a good experience for consumers."

Though a lot of people are looking at the Gaikai service as a loophole for the lack of backwards compatibility for the PS4, House did mention that it can be more than that. Gaikai is a new way to offer and experience PS3 games via the PS4.

This is mostly due to the fact that Gaikai will not only be available for the PS4, but will most likely expand to other devices, including the PS Vita and even the Sony smart TVs and connected boxes.

Dualshock 4: Not as durable as originally thought?

Some gamers have already put in hours and hours on various games ever since the release of the PS4 last November. Some users who have put in quite a number of hours playing with the PS4 have started to find a growing problem, which involves the DualShock 4 controllers.

In two separate instances, it seems that the feature that experiences the biggest wear and tear is the analog sticks. 16 Bit Kings published a picture of the DualShock 4 that has the left side already showing signs of damage on the rubber.

At the same time, another one from GamingBolt has documented one PS4 owner's experience with the PS4's DualShock 4. This time, both of the analog sticks have shown quite a massive amount of damage, ranging from worn out flat pads to the edges already chipping off.

While this is not an issue for everyone, Sony can take a look at the durability of the DS4, just to see if there's anything that can be done for future production.

Those who may be interested in replacing the analog sticks with your old and unused DS3 may want to try this new method where you can modify the DS4. Some have resorted to this method not because of wear and tear but rather to enjoy the same analog stick experience that they've had for the past eight years.
