Here's another round of face-offs between the two big camps in console gaming, as news on the current plans for both the PS4 and the Xbox720 surface before the major upcoming events lined up.

PS4: Heading to the GameStop Expo in August

If you want an in-depth look at the PS4, it seems that your next stop should be GameStop Expo 2013, which will be held in Las Vegas on August 28.

According to GameSpot, participants will get a glimpse of the launch lineup and an in-depth look at the PS4. By in-depth, does this mean that the hardware will finally be revealed?

That aside, GameSpot adds that you can go hands-on on the PS4 game titles and get up-close with the game developers in the industry. Considering the hands-on event, it might not be far off, especially with the E3 2013 already marked as one of the possible reveal dates for the actual hardware.

Go for the early bird ticket, which is now available until August 11 for only $35, or you can opt for the regularly priced ticket at $45. Those who want to get their hands on the limited VIP passes can already avail them at the early-bird rate of $90 (or at $100, if you're past the deadline).

Early admittance to the show floor, an exclusive lounge access, gaming tournaments, discussions, and goodie bag are up for grabs for VIPs.

Call of Duty: Ghosts demos in May 21 Xbox 720 event

More things to look forward to in the remaining 19 days until Microsoft finally reveals its next-gen console. Not only is this great for Call of Duty fans, but also for the hype that it can gain for the Xbox 720.

In a barrage of Call of Duty: Ghosts, we went from mere speculations of a possible follow-up to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 game to a confirmed demo on May 21 for the Xbox 720.

Digital Spy reports that the announcement was made official when the Facebook page was launched, and a few tweets teasing fans to retweet if they want to see the next-gen Call of Duty. In addition, details such as destructible environments, interactive areas and traps, and multiplayer maps are to be expected in the next iteration.

Ex-Microsoft CD Molyneux to appear in May 21?

Another surprise that may be waiting at the May 21 Xbox 720 reveal event involves an Ex-Microsoft executive, Peter Molyneux.

"There's this opportunity that's come up for me to be involved--it's not from Microsoft by the way--in the Xbox announcement, and I'm probably going to take up that opportunity," said Molyneux to EuroGamer.

It seems that Molyneux is keeping the event details close to the chest, but can it be, in any way, related to the latest project that his current company, 22 Cans, is working on?

If you remember, 22 Cans is working on Curiosity, which has spanned a great deal of following as the interactive teaser, where users are asked to chip away at cubelets to reveal a life-changing secret inside the cube, which only one person will be entitled to.

Curiosity is bound for the iOS and Android, and is close to getting out of its Alpha phase. Whether the developments can tie-in with Microsoft--though not exclusively, as Molyneux has been adamant that he is already in the multiplatform and multi-device arena now--it seems that details won't come from Molyneux himself.
