Australian flag carrier Qantas and 10 other air carriers got the 7-star rating for safety and product quality in a new airline ratings Web site, AirlineRatings.com.

The other air carriers included in the top list are All-Nippon Airways of Japan, Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines and China Southern.

The portal provides ratings for 426 airlines around the world, said Geoffrey Thomas, the editor-in-chief of AirlineRatings.com.

On the extreme end, 43 air carriers received 3 stars or less, which indicates poor ratings. The list includes Lion Air of Indonesia which got 2 stars, Yeti Airlines of Nepal, Solomon Airlines and several African airlines.

Besides ratings for safety, the portal also has passenger reviews and food reviews sections, although there are no entries yet.
