Queen Elizabeth II is set out on a three-day Royal visit to Australia in October with husband Prince Philip, confirmed the Buckingham Palace over the weekend.

This will be the Queen’s and according to The Herald Sun and this year’s visit will include the Commonwealth heads of government meeting in Perth from October 28 to 30.

The Queen is noted to be a frequent visitor of the former British colony and the October Royal visit marks her 16th official trip to Australia since 1954. The 85-year-old monarch and her husband last travelled to Australia in 2006 to grace the opening of the Commonwealth Games.

"The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Philip) will visit Australia in the autumn. This visit will include the Commonwealth heads of government meeting in Perth," the statement from the Buckingham Palace was quoted as saying by the Agence France Presse.

According to the Herald Sun, the spokesman from the Palace emphasized that the Queen is ‘very much looking forward to upcoming trip to Australia’.

"We are not saying whether she will visit other cities at this stage, but that may be announced later,” the spokesman said, according to The Herald Sun.

The Queen’s visit comes after grandson Prince William had visited the disaster stricken areas in Australia from March 19 to 21 where he met not only the country’s top officials but also the volunteer workers, the rescue operations group and relatives of the victims of the devastating floods and cyclones that hit the country early this year.
