RAZER BLADE: You Can't Play Battlefield 3, CoD: MW3 on Your iPad 3
Unless you're content with Rovio's Angry Birds all your life or The Sims on Facebook, you need a laptop, not an iPad or another tablet device, for some hard-core gaming.
Activision Publishing, Inc., is set to release in November Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the latest edition of its record breaking Call of Duty first-shooter video game franchise. A week before MW3's release, another military-themed FPS game, Battlefield 3, which is published by Electronic Arts, will be available for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
During that time Razer -- yes the entity that provides every peripheral and hardware needed for gaming -- will be releasing its own laptop, the Razer Blade, 0.88-inch-thick, a 6.97-pound laptop with an aluminum chassis and 17.3-inch LED display.
The laptop was jointly developed with Intel and NVIDIA
The Blade, which is Razer's first laptop, comes at a price -- it will cost $2,799.99, which is equivalent to five $499.99 iPads. But would you rather be the plant throwing butter and corn kernels to zombies in an iPad or would you rather be the cool and hip Task Force 141 Captain John "Soap" MacTavish?
The Blade promises "true portability, incredible performance, and a revolutionary user interface."
The specs of the Razer Blade are indeed amazing: 2.8-GHz Intel Core i7 processor, discrete Nvidia GeForce GT 555M graphics processing unit, 2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 video memory, 8 GB 1333MHz DDR3 memory, native HD support, and 1920 x 1080 resolution.
The Razer Blade features the Switchblade User Interface -- Razer's multi-award winning, highly intuitive interface technology. The interface is comprised of 10 dynamic adaptive tactile keys for easier access of in-game commands, and an LCD capable of two modes: one mode that displays in-game information when a mouse is in use; and another mode that functions as an ultra-sensitive, multi-touch panel designed for gaming on the go.
"The Razer Blade was designed to give gamers a laptop they could truly use on the go," said Min-Liang Tan, CEO and Creative Director, Razer. "Its sleek, lightweight aluminum construction makes it the thinnest 17-inch gaming laptop available today."

Verdict
While the Razer Blade is only 0.88-inches thick and weighs only under 3 kilograms, the $2,700 may be very expensive. A comparable device from Apple -- the MacBook Pro with the 17-inch, 2.2GHz quad-core, Intel Core i7 4GB 1333MHz, 750GB 5400-rpm1, and Intel HD Graphics 3000 costs, and AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5 -- costs only $2,499. And everybody had thought that Apple has the most expensive devices in the market. Apparently, the MacBook Pro is cheaper than the Blade.
