Keyshia Cole’s husband, Daniel Gibson is in trouble with the law after he was arrested for assault and battery in New Orleans. The arrest came following the incident early this month when Gibson, a professional basketball player, got involved in a fight at a club, resulting injuries of still, unidentified man.

Reports by TMZ claimed that “Boobie” Gibson was booked for 2nd degree battery following the incident. No details have been provided by New Orleans police as to the identity of the man who accused Gibson of the assault. Police says the man claimed he had suffered broken jaw in the squabble that only started with a verbal argument.

At 11:42 a.m. Pacific Time, TMZ reported the statement made by Gibson following his arrest. The Cleveland Cavaliers player confirmed the arrest but clarified that he turned himself in to the authorities. He was later released after a bond was arranged. In the statement released to TMZ, Gibson admitted being involved in the fight, revealing that he was with wife, Keyshia at the time.

He said, "Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife."

The NBA player hit back at his accuser(s), whom he believes are just out to milk him out through legal procedures.

"It's unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved,” Gibson added in a statement released by TMZ. Keisha’s husband expressed confidence that all will end in his favor saying, “Once all the facts of the incident come out, I expect to be fully vindicated."

Gibson included in the statement how he believes he still serves as good role model to his son and the young blood who have faith in him.
