Redknapp urges UEFA to look into Flamini and Corluka tackle
Spurs manager wants the football association to take actions against AC Milan's Mathieu Flamini over two-footed tackle against Spurs Vedran Corluka.
The manager for Tottenham Hotspurs, Harry Redknapp has urged the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) Champions League to look into the two-footed lunge AC Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini against Spurs Vedran Corluka.
Describing the tackle as ‘horrendous’, Redknapp insisted that actions should be taken, expressing dismay over the yellow-card penalty received by Flamini following the attack.
“I’d like them (UEFA) to have a look at that tackle. It was a leg-breaking tackle. How he doesn't give him a red card, I don't know," Redknapp was quoted as saying by the UK Press Association.
The Spurs manager added, "The tackle from Flamini was a horrendous tackle. It was a sending off. He was two or three feet off the floor with two feet. It was a leg-breaking tackle," the Spurs manager added.
An x-ray result will determine if indeed any of the bones of Corluka's leg was broken after the ‘horrendous’ attack. The Spur's player was carried in a stretcher out of San Siro ten minutes into the second half of the game.
Spurs ended with magnificent 1-0 over AC Milan in the first leg of the last 16 round tie at the Champions League.
