More details on the death of Cory, known for his role as Finn Hudson on Glee:
1. Police found him at Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday, July 13, 2013.
It is believed that Cory died alone at his hotel room. He was reported to check in on July 6 and was scheduled to check out on the day he was found.

"As was the case in countless homes, I watched Glee regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death,” Doug LePard, acting chief of Vancouver Police said, according to Sky News.

The police official noted, “Mr Monteith checked into the hotel in July 6 and was due to check out of the room (on Saturday).”

2. He was alone when he died but he had companies shortly before his death. The police noted that Cory was not alone hours before he died. But a video showed he entered his hotel room alone.

"There were others with Mr Monteith in his room earlier ... but video and fob key entries show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours and we believe he was alone when he died," the police asserted, added SkyNews.

3. Police ruled out foul play.
Despite rumours that Cory’s death is attributed to drug overdose, the police have remained mum about the officials’ initial findings.

"An autopsy is scheduled for Monday," Vancouver’s acting police, Chief Doug LePard noted. "The Coroner will be determining the next steps with respect to establishing cause of death, but all indications are that there was no foul play."
