The mid-season premiere of “Revenge” is just around the corner, and after a month-long hiatus, the second half of the season will hit the ground running. Just when Emily Thorne and David Clarke think that they can begin to live a normal life now that Conrad Grayson and Malcom Black are dead, they will now be facing a new enemy. Margaux LeMarchal is out to destroy Emily and actress Karine Vanasse talks about her character and her plans for revenge. [Warning: Spoiler Alert!]

“She can be quite reactive, and she’s not just going to wait for someone else to take care of things,” says Vanasse in an interview with TV Line. Her character Margaux is in a deeply emotional and enraged state. She is pregnant, and her baby’s father, Daniel Grayson, was killed in an encounter with Emily. She and Daniel had just patched things up in their relationship at the time and she is devastated to lose him.

Everyone was led to believe that Daniel had attacked Emily and she shot him out of self-defense. The truth was, Daniel was shot by Kate Black, Malcolm Black’s daughter, as he was trying to protect Emily. Emily is Daniel’s ex-wife. Kate was eventually killed by Jack Porter who came to rescue Emily. Victoria Grayson and David Clarke arrived at the scene and everyone agreed to hide the truth in order to protect themselves from the wrath of Malcolm Black. Kate was left out of the story and Daniel ended up being demonised as the attacker. Victoria reluctantly agreed and told Margaux the altered version of the story.

Margaux remains unconvinced and is determined to find out the truth about Emily and the incident. Vanasse tells TV Line that her character has nothing left to lose. She only knows what Victoria told her and she will see that apart from Victoria, everyone else is backing Emily up. She will reportedly continue digging for evidence against Emily, and in the process, she will become even more curious as to why everyone is supporting Emily.

“Margaux doesn’t know everything the audience knows about Emily, so she doesn’t really know what she’s getting herself into,” says Vanasse. Margaux doesn’t know everything that Emily went through in the last three seasons to clear her father’s name of a mass murder and terrorist act. It has to be mentioned that while all this plotting is going on, Margaux is pregnant with Daniel’s baby. However, she says that her character won’t be showing a baby bump in the near future. She says that the episodes only advance a day at a time, so she won’t be sporting any maternity clothing in the near future. “Revenge” returns on Sunday, March 8, on ABC.
