Rio 2016 Olympics: Couple having sex on background while BBC reporter was doing stand upper on beachside
It is a summer games of embarrassment at Rio de Janeiro with a Japanese pole vaulter’s penis hitting the bar, a French speed walker pooping inside his shorts and American athletes caught lying about a hold-up incident. To add more gaffes, a BBC correspondent was doing a stand upper on a beachfront, while a couple appears to be having sex on the background.
Dan Walker of BBC Sport was giving an update on Thursday night when he noticed a couple on the background near the water in an apparent compromising pose. He initially attempted to ignore the two lovebirds, but after a few moments decided to explain what was also slightly visibly to viewers, reports the New York Post.
First, Walker says the two figures on the background were “having a hug,” but he later changed his mind and suggested the couple were “reading a book … in a strange pose,” although it was dark and there were no available lights, except moonlight.
Although the BBC cameraman did not zoom in on the couple, viewers were not convinced of Walker’s explanation. Robert Middleton, for instance, tweeted, “Absolutely brilliant. Are you trying to convince the public or yourself they’re reading?!”
Although many social media users also believe the couple was having sex, most of their comments were on Walker’s weak attempt to cover up and his unbelievable explanation, reports the Sun.
