American comedian Rob Schneider is coming to New Zealand. The star of comedy flicks such as “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo” and “The Hot Chick” will be in the country in October to perform in comedy shows for two nights.

The 49-year-old actor will perform on October 12 at the Opera House in Wellington, and on October 13 at the SkyCity Theatre in Auckland.

This will be the first time the Emmy Award-nominated actor will be touring New Zealand. Tickets will be available on Monday, August 26 from 9am through Ticketek.

He will also be in Australia from October 16 to 24. His schedule includes the Astor Theatre in Perth on the 16th, the Opera House in Sydney on the 19th, the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne on the 21st, Her Majesty’s Theatre in Adelaide on the 23rd, and at The Tivoli in Brisbane on the 24th.

Schneider has made a name for himself in U.S. showbiz since starting in the sketch comedy series “Saturday Night Live,” but he is also known as one of Adam Sandler’s long-time friends who always co-starred or appeared in a cameo in the latter’s films.

He was in most Happy Madison projects (Sandler’s production company), including “50 First Dates, “Little Nicky,” “The Benchwarmers,” “Bedtime Stories,” and “Big Daddy.” However, he was suspiciously absent in Sandler’s last films.

He was supposed to reprise his role in the sequel “Grown Ups 2,” but was replaced by Nick Swardson. It was speculated that Schneider had a falling out with Sandler.

“They’re doing Grown Ups 2 without me. Mistake. They should have paid me a lot of money,” he said in a radio interview with CBS Houston in 2012 before the production of the film started.

“Well, truthfully, I wasn’t sure if I’d have my TV series, so it was an availability thing, but at the end of the day, they should have [said], ‘What money does Rob need?’”

His TV sitcom “Rob” was cancelled by CBS in May 2012.
