Robert Pattinson's fiancee FKA twigs stuns audience with her flexible dance moves at the FYF fest in LA
British singer FKA twigs gave an artistic performance at the FYF Festival in Los Angeles over the weekend. Robert Pattinson's fiancee charmed fans with her characteristic vocals and extraordinarily flexible dance moves, as she graced the LA Sports Arena and Exposition Park.
Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, wore a black bondage-inspired one piece, which revealed her toned legs and washboard abs. The 27-year-old used the stage to show off her body's flexibility in a series of sensual movements with her male dancers.
According to The Orange County Register (OCR), twigs' performance was “most experimental and visually interesting set of the weekend.” The singer performed on a piece titled “Congregata,” where she combined contemporary dance moves with voguing and came out with a very artistically sensual performance.
Twigs’ performance “incorporates her ethereal vocals, trip-hop electronic music, artful costumes and choreography that runs from lyrical contemporary to voguing, to name just two of the styles she and her dancers included,” writes Peter Larsen from the OCR.
"Congregata" in Latin means "coming together” and in that context twigs brings together all her past inspirations to her performance. Meanwhile, twigs was one of the many artists who performed at the fest. Rapper Kanye West replaced singer-songwriter Frank Ocean at the last moment to headline the fest.
West surprised the audience by bringing Rihanna on stage and singing a duet with her on their song, “FourFiveSeconds.” According to Billboard, Rihanna was not scheduled to perform on stage but was sitting in the audience when West saw her and pulled her on stage.
Other artists who performed during the two day festival included Solange, Purity Ring, The Jesus and Mary Chain, D'Angelo & The Vanguard, Neon Indian, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Morrissey, Horse Meat Disco Mikal Cronin and many others. Now in its 11th year, the FYF festival attracts thousands of music lovers to LA every year.
