Roger Federer Determined to Revive Career

Roger Federer is determined to revive his career and reclaim his spot in the top four. The 2014 tennis season is just barely starting, but Federer is out to prove that he still got it in him. Federer initially revealed that he still playing good tennis, so people can certainly expect a lot from the Swiss athlete who currently ranks number 8 in the world.

An exclusive report on Federer by Mike Dickson of the Daily Mail stated that the 32-year-old athlete is on his way to revive his career and rally his way back to the top 4 of the world rankings. Federer explained that he hates it when people do not bother to understand why he is not playing well. For all tennis enthusiasts, it is no secret that Federer didn't have an impressive 2013 season. Federer said that he was struggling so much last year, but people thought that he was still playing in his normal form. He went on and revealed the he knew in himself that he can always play great tennis, but he knew he couldn't do great in 2013, which made him lose his confidence that people, especially his critics, weren't really so keen to realise.

"I don't want to say this in a cocky way but I believe I worked the hardest from the top eight in the off-season," said Federer. "Many guys went off to play exhibitions, or were in the Davis Cup," he added. "I had time, I put my head down and worked and I did without any setbacks," said the 17-time Grand Slam Champion.

In addition, having had appointed former top-ranked and fellow Swiss athlete Stefan Edberg as his coach and to whom Federer referred to as his childhood hero, he said that it is "inspiring to be working with him." However, Federer clarifies that his current performance in the 2014 season is not at all because of Edberg's influence.

"People go a bit far about his influence," he said.

"It's not like everything I do now is because of Stefan, it's something deeper than that," he added.

Federer has really worked his way to get back up to the rankings, and he's determined to revive his career.

Federer's current tournament is the 2014 Sony Open Miami Masters. He had advanced into the fourth round of the tennis event and is scheduled to compete against Japan's Kei Nishikori on March 26.
