Roger Federer’s Million-Dollar Swiss Villa Construction Now Finished
After months of construction, Roger Federer's Swiss villa is now finished. Federer and his family will reportedly soon be able to move to his new home in the Swiss Alps.
Federer has built his luxurious shack worth $9.5 million in Wollerau, on the shores of Lake Zurich. Despite several construction delays in building the property, the end results are amazing, according to a report by EuroSport.
The report said that Federer's villa measures 500 square metres. It has three floors, a swimming pool, and a glass dome around the dining area overlooking the astonishing Lake Zurich. The villa will be divided into two; one for the Swiss tennis great, his wife Mirka, and their two sets of twins, and the other one will be for Federer's parents Robert and Lynette.
Federer is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players to ever grace the sport. He has won 17 Grand Slam singles titles. Federer's success on the tennis court has paved the way for partnerships with big companies such as Nike, Rolex, Mercedes Benz, Wilson, Lindt and Gillette. EuroSport reported that Federer's earnings on and off the tennis court should be enough for him to build and pay for his luxurious villa in his native Switzerland.
In other news, Federer is scheduled to play in India for the International Premier Tennis League, or IPTL. It will be Federer's first appearance in the IPTL team tournament. Federer leads the Indian Aces, which include other tennis stars like Ana Ivanovic, Gael Monfils, Fabrice Santoro and Pete Sampras. The Aces will play against Manila Mavericks on Dec. 6, against the Singapore Slammers on Dec. 7, and against the UAE Royals on Dec. 8.
The Aces currently ranks first in the latest standings with 18 points, followed by the Royals, Mavericks and Slammers with 15 points, 13 points and 10 points, respectively. The Indian leg will be the third stage of the tournament. The players will be in Mumbai for a three-day event, from Dec. 6 to Dec. 8. The IPTL tournament will have its final stop in Dubai from Dec. 11 to Dec. 13.
