'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' spoilers: Death of a major character expected; Imperial uniforms explained
New posters of “Rogue One: A star Wars Story” have been released online. A new report explains the Imperial uniforms of the franchise, and another report teases a possible death of a major character in the movie.
A new set of posters of the movie have been posted on Star Wars Underworld. The first poster was officially released online previously. The next two posters are actually the possible cover of two novels that will soon be released. The first young adult novel will be focused on the protagonist Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and is set to be released on May 2, 2017. The second novel will be focused on two of Rebel team members Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang) and Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), which will also be released on the same day as the first novel.
Meanwhile, a new report on the official Star Wars website talks about the evolution of Imperial uniforms in the franchise. Talking specifically about the costume of Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), the main villain in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” the report notes that the character has a knack for standing out in a crowd. The character’s costume is white with a white cape, which is said to have made a mark in the history of Imperial fashion.
Not much is known about Krennic at the moment. The character’s main task in the movie is to protect the Death Star from any attacks from the Rebel Alliance. According to a previous report by Cinema Blend, the character will also have to make sure he doesn’t offend Darth Vader.
[Spoiler alert]
There is a lot of “palace intrigue” going on in the Empire. There is no loyalty among the villains and so they are constantly sabotaging each other’s efforts in order to move up in the ranks. The report notes that Director Krennic is not expected to make it out alive after “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and there is a possibility of the character dying at the hands of Darth Vader.
